I should be studying for finals but instead I'm here, procrastinating.
ooh, Elphie, what are you going to have?
I may very well have not looked either way. heh.
My reaction time today is kind of delayed. It's mildly amusing.
My mom's doctor called but she wasn't here. But we know this is bad news. She got a mammogram a couple weeks ago, then got a call saying they needed to do further testing. She did that on Monday.
Why we know it can't be good is that her doctor actually called, not just a technician. So...there is a lump.
we had this scare rwhen I was 9 and luckily it wasn't cancer...but we can't get that lucky every time.
I am really really scared for her, so if you pray, please do!
I hope it turns out okay, Caitie.
I have hiccups.
I really need a distraction. I'm not really in a place where it's okay for me to have nothing to do, which is ironic, because after tomorrow, well, I really have nothing to do.
And I love Stewie!
Now there's a voice actor venue made in heaven...
Why will you have nothing to do, Em?
My last exam is a take-home that's due tomorrow night. So I'll be working on it during the day tomorrow, but once I turn it in, I'm without major obligations or deadlines. I feel a bit useless when that happens, plus the fact that if I just sit around and contemplate my own personal mysteries, that kind of gets depressing. I need to be doing things that occupy by brain right now, or else I sit around and harp on things that make me miserable. That's not healthy.

Banal:
My beloved Stephen was talking to Frank Rich on yesterday's (today's 8:30 rebroadcast) of the Report. They said that Republicans were like Annie- "The sun will come out tomorrow! Today sucks, but it's going to get better." and the Democrats were like Sweeney Todd because they "slit your throat and take your money". And it completely made my slightly odd day.

I'll never know how you can think so much, Em!
I was vomiting all last night, but I'm feeling mostly better now.
Oh gosh, Caitie, I really hope everything is alright! *crosses fingers*
Em, we went to a Greek place.
Hi, Nia! I love it when random Broadway things happen in my day.
Lexi, that sucks. I'm glad you're feeling better.

I'm glad you're better, SD. Adam looks quite delicious in that photograph.
ETA- Hi, Elphie! How is life without AP?

Well, it's only been a few hours, but it's WONDERFUL. How are you?

Caitie, I also hope everything is alright. My mom was in a similar situation a few months ago, and everything turned out fine.
I still don't know the first thing about Sweeney.
Thanks, girls. I think I caught a virus of some kind, because I didn't eat any questionable foods yesterday.
And yes, nia. I still think "sex-tousled" is the best description of his look in the rehearsal.
You might have the same thing I did a few weeks ago, Lexi.
Sex-touseled is good.

Sex-touseled indeed... Like he just rolled out of bed and put on the first things he found, which were not his own clothes. That's the excuse I'm making for their bagginess anyway.
You must acquaint yourself with Sweeney. I know you're going to see it when you move to NY, but it's easier to follow if you know the story before you go. I recommend the concert DVD with Patti and George Hearn, or if you want the CD, get the OBC because it's more complete.
I'm doing ok. A bit of IB drama, a hodge podge of minor stress and angst, but nothing new.
oooh. Pretty picture indeed. And I'm glad you're feeling better!
Pleaaase familiarize yourself with Sweeney before you go. I felt like a total pinhead for being so confused.
I'll never know how you can think so much, Em!
Me either, frankly. I'm surprised I haven't driven myself to a looney bin yet.

The wifebeater underneath the hoodie fits. That's about it.
Do you think Michael, Mano, etc. will still be there in August? I know that there's more to the show than just them, but I'd really love to see the original cast.
I'm glad you're doing well, nia. Everyone deserves to have those kind of days more often.
I'm watching the Yankee game. Whee.
I am greatly looking forward to seeing Sweeney this summer!
Um, Em? Where do you think you are?
I.... have no idea what the contract schedule is. I think yes, and that Patti might not be? I think they were all one-year contracts, except her, but she's leaving and then possibly coming back, or something.
Gee, thanks, Elphie.

Patti's contract is up in July, but she's said in several interviews that she'd like to renew it. I'm not sure how playing Mama Rose in Chicago will interfere with things.
So.... if those sweats don't belong to Adam, whose are they?
Emcee, have you ever heard the Dresden Dolls' "Jeep Song"?
Nia, do you know when in July her contract ends? Are you going to get to see any shows while you're in NYC?
I haven't.... is it on their new CD? I'm going to do some shopping this weekend, and I think I might buy it. If not, maybe I'll download it on iTunes. Why?
Adam's pants ARE a little bit large on him.
I think Ravinia is only a committment of a few weeks, so if she renewed she'd just go away and come back. I hope she decides to do that. It wouldn't be the same without her.
can this thread be opposite-banal as well?
i might be going to BELGIUM this summer!
i'm so excited.
aaaand
i'm done
