last nite's episode of grey's anatomy was a good one but it was a bit unrealistic in regards to the character's ages.
meredith grey was shown circa 1982. she was a little girl, holding a doll visiting ellis at the hospital with her dad thatcher and i'm thinking...this is totally wrong.
how old is meredith grey supposed to be on the show? ellen pompeo is 41. i'm a year older than she is and in 1982 I was starting my first year in high school.
on the flip side of the coin:
i work in a hospital. i'm not a doctor or a nurse I work the administrative end but that scene where richard webber is reciting the hippocratic oath left me with tears in my eyes. it's a testament to the tremendous talent of james pickens, jr. as one of his finest moments on the show. i'm so glad he's been given a spotlight story arc this season....it's about time.

I didn't see last night's episode/haven't watched in years, but isn't Meredith supposed to be in her early thirties? When they started (it's the sixth season), they were first year interns, which puts most of them between 26-30ish, the younger ones having gone straight from undergrad to med school to residency. That puts them now between 32 and 36- born in between 1974 and 1978. It's possible.
