It is interesting/refreshing to see a true cornucopia of representation of different types of people in America on this talent show.
Unlike Idol or Dancing with the STars- where sexuality and being gay is a non-discussed issue and performers seem 'in a bind' to not discuss who they are out of fear for ratings. (Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert, Jim Verraros, to name a few)
The Voice has been very upfront and center with a good handful of contestants describing themselves as gay or lesbian- but it is not what defines them- good job THE Voice! For bringing all parts of America on this television show.
Or..do you feel it is exploitation to consider itself 'trendy' or 'cool'?
It's an interesting debate.
What do you think? Is anyone watching the VOice and feeling the same way?
