Is anyone watching this? The pain poor Jim is going through -- ugh. I lived through a similar situation, so I know what he's going through - this is supposed to be a funny show...
OK, so Michael dancing was pretty funny...

I am a huge fan of The Office, both the American and British versions. I agree about Jim - I hate Roy, he seems like such a jerk. But I heard a rumor that Jim is supposed to confess his feelings to Pam this season, though I doubt it'll happen. They'll want to keep this going for a while.

Michael dancing = HILARIOUS!re: The agony of The Office

What happened? I sadly missed it due to rehearsal which ran wicked late...

Am I cut out to spend my time this way?

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

-Michael took everyone on a "booze cruise" in a local lake. Roy and Pam finally set a date for their wedding just after Jim backed out of confessing his feelings for her. Poor Jim.

Jim was on the verge of revealing his feelings to Pam, then Roy made a big announcement and set a date for the wedding - June 10 (they have been engaged for three years).

Jim, very depressed, told Michael about his feelings for Pam. Michael, of course, had absolutely no idea. Michael told Jim not to give up hope.

My heart ached for jim in this episode. Two days ago I told my very best friend that i had feelings for him. Didn't go as i had hoped but i think things will still be okay. I just dont ever want to lose what we had. Well that was a bit of a side note. That feeling of seeing someone you care for so much and knowing that you can't be with them is horrible.

Absolutely fabulous- been there... it sucks.. plus in my case it got complicated a tad. But don't worry friendships can survive it. Mine did.

The problem I have is that this makes Pam look like a unfeeling idiot. Why would she even be with someone like Roy? I lose all rooting value for someone who would align herself with an obnoxious ass.

cmledi -- You've never known someone who's just with the wrong person and doesn't know it? Sometimes the woman (in my experience it's usually the woman, though not always) gets to the point where she's afraid to be alone - or doesn't know how to NOT be with the person any more and so stays. I had a friend who was also engaged for a LONG time - living with the guy - he was totally wrong for her. She eventually realized it and left him when he wouldn't set the date -- but it took her over two years of engagement and something like 7 or 8 years of dating before that! She's a wonderful person - just didn't know any better.

It's a terrific show, isn't it? It sends up all flavors of workplace politics and angst with just enough satiric edge, while pulling us in emotionally with this compelling romantic subplot. It's a unique show, and I hope it finds bigger audience on Thursday. It's head and shoulders about the gag-tracked KINGS thing. The old 3-camera ha-ha schtick seems very tired next to Earl and Office.
