Before I put on my make up, I say a little prayer for you.

Just rewatched one of my favorite movies ever, "My Best Friend's Wedding". Next time I'm out to lunch with my friends, I'm forcing them to sing along with me. Such a great scene in such a great movie.

Never fails to put a smile on my face :)

Yeah, but I hate that version of "I Say A Little Prayer." As has been done countless times, they dumbed it down by getting rid of the cool, wacked-out meter of the original. Check out the Dionne Warwick recording from the 60's. Way cooler. (And yeah, I like Aretha's version OK, but it's a little bombastic, and just not as cool as Dionne Warwick's.)

I'm a bit of a Bacharach fan, if you couldn't tell...

I just watched My Best Friend's Wedding for the 1st time ever last night and it was hysterical. I love how she was chasing him in the bread truck and of course the "I Say Alittle Prayer" moment was priceless.

Man, I knew I liked you luvLiza.

I used to have a live recording of Dionne doing the song. Without skipping a beat (as they say), she inserted the words "thank you" in between the first and second lines, acknowledging the audience's applause at recognizing the song:

"The moment I wake up (thank you!) / Before I put on my makeup."

I can't hear that song now without doing that.

HaHa. Thats funny PalJoey.

Like I said, I just saw the movie for the first time last night, but I pick up quotes really well in movies and such.

I remember this

"Dionne Worwick? Whose that?"
"She's Whitney Houston's cousin"
"And she's "our" friend from the Pschyic Friend's network"

Hysterical stuff.

Will these kindly people want to remain your friends afterwards?

Not with my friends. One minor faux pas and they'll discard me like a broken toy. Thst's how I became the paragon of good elegance and good taste.

I don't think any of her movies are remarkably good, but there's something about every single Julia Roberts romantic comedy that just hooks me and keeps me sitting there for the entire two hours.

That happened last week when I spotted NOTTING HILL on TV...I adore that movie.
