Well, sondheim has a lot of layers. and you begin to learn to decipher them.
And I also think that one of the things that the wolf represents is the horny nature and hormones and the sexually chraged way that young men act in.
And it matures into a more subdued, but every bit as harmful, predatory sexual tension as the princes.
It was no mistake that Robert Westenberg played both parts.

Robert Westenberg played those parts perfectly, and I understood that too. He made it quite clear in Horny-I mean Agony.
