An amazing man has passed away. Most of you have probably never heard of Drew, but he was one of the co-authors (with his life partner David P. McWhirter)of "The Male Couple - How Relationships Develop" which came out in 1985. At that time they had been together for 12 years. When Drew passed, they had spent an amazing 32 years together.
This book was the first book on gay relationships written by a gay couple, and had an impact on everyone who read it.
At a time when AIDS was still a whisper, and longterm relationships were rare, this book gave us all hope.

Drew was a close friend of my partner (as was David). I only met them once, and truly wish I had known him better. The stories my partner tells are truly inspirational.

Drew's remembrance service will be in late February at the Old Globe Theater in San Diego.

It is ridiculous to set a detective story in New York City. New York City is itself a detective story... AGATHA CHRISTIE, Life magazine, May 14, 1956
