My question is- did any of you wrestle with whether to go into theatre or not? I'm constantly going back and forth on it. I almost went to college for it and now I'm at school for something completely different, but I'm leaning back toward theatre again.
Did any of you struggle with this? How did you know it was right for you? WHAT SHOULD I DO?!

The usual answer to this question is that if you can picture yourself being happy doing something else, do that something else. If you can't, pursue theatre.
Thanks for the response!
I've heard that said before. I know there are lots of things I'm GOOD at and thus I can picture myself having a different career. The problem is that I suppose when you're "bit by the acting bug" it never truly leaves you. Every few months I just go crazy missing theatre and wishing I had gone through with it. But I love my classes for my current major as well.
I'm just trying to figure out if theatre really is so much a part of me that I'll never stop wishing I could spend all my time doing it, or if I'll get over it one day.
Apologies for whining about my problems...
Are you in school for theatre?

Yep, grad school! That's actually a good option for you- you can get one degree in theatre and another in something else.
I think that's going to be the plan. I want to finish my degree and then maybe approach studying theatre later.
How do you like it? Are you exhausted all the time? Haha.

there is a saying in theatre, If you can live without it then don't do it.
Faithzilla, I'm going through the same thing you're going through! Although I have a bit of a setback... I have a visual impairment. :/ I would also be hesitant to study theatre because I'll be 23 in April, so I wouldn't exactly be the youngest in my theatre class. Maybe I'm being overly paranoid?...

Well, even if you don't go into theatre professionally, that doesn't mean theatre can't be a part of your life. You can be in community theatre and see a lot of shows and find other non-professional opportunities to participate. I would guess that your college does have opportunities for non-theatre majors to perform in their productions.
broadwayfreak- I wouldn't worry about age. I know lots of people who study theatre when they are a bit older.
AwesomeDanny- Unfortunately, my university only lets theatre majors audition for shows. But you are so right about community productions. That's my next step. It's been so so long since I've done a show, so I think I just need to be in another play and gauge my feelings about everything.
