I don't think it's "ridiculous" at all, as they claim. I say bring it on!
My only complaint is that the "nerd girl" kissing the hot man isn't nearly nerd enough. She's just a hot babe in horn rims. So I call "foul!" That's no equal representation there.

I agree with the point; it's just as obnoxious (to those of us who find it so); no more, no less; but to expect that advertising isn't going to continue to dehumanize us, make us feel bad about ourselves, or anything else it does to make us want to be different, have different things, and spend money doing it, is an unfounded expectation.

Actually, you can even see the double-standard in the video made to mock the ads. Look at how much more fabric is on the man's bottom than the woman's.
