The West Bank is another story. Mr. Sharon remains the asshole to end all assholes, especially because a lot of this settlement stuff was his brainchild in the first place. Oh, and he instigated the current intifada. You think the American electorate has problems? I can't believe that jerk got voted in.

I was just surprised to hear a vote on *anything* happening at all, given that it's Mr. Sharon who started to build that border wall that snakes through the West Bank. But now that I've finished the rest of the article, it doesn't sound likely that this will pass, or that they'll be able to enforce it even if the parliament does decide to withdraw -- not without some major violence happening. And as you said, even if it does happen, there's still the West Bank to deal with. Sigh. It's hard when extremists from both sides are invoking God's name and pulling out quotes from 'holy books' as proof that they have sole rights to the land.
