I'm trying to use TiVo Desktop for the first time, but I can not get the program in question to play, hoping that maybe someone on here who uses this can help me out with what I am doing wrong here...
(fyi running Windows XP) So I have the TiVo Desktop installed, and I have done the transfer of the show in question from the TiVo. The program is showing up in TiVo Desktop: 1 hr duration, 1,238 MB size.
When I hit play it brings up Windows Media Player, but then says that "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because a required codec is not installed on your computer."
However, everything in Windows Media Player looks ok- running WMP 11, the Video Decoder Checkup Utility says that the MPEG-2 decoder is installed and compatible, etc...
So what am I missing, what do I need/need to check here?
