Tiff's Neil Patrick Harris Public Service Announcement

My daily good deed is to tell you that tonight at 9pm EST/PST, NBC is re-running the L&O: Criminal Intent episode from 2004 with Neil Patrick Harris playing a chocolate-making murderer. (I didn't spoil it - it's revealed fairly early.)

From the nbc.com website:

WANT
9pm 2005-04-17
GOREN PONDERS LONELY SLAYING SUSPECT WHO KILLS AND COLLECTS PRETTY WOMEN -- NEIL PATRICK HARRIS GUEST STARS-- A shy, lonely man (guest star, Neil Patrick Harris) becomes the focus of a police investigation when a stripper is found murdered -- with part of her calf missing -- and Detectives Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe) zero in when another woman escapes his clutches, leading them to believe the suspect wants a "mindless" female to keep him company. However, as the noose is tightened, a sympathetic Goren clashes with his superiors over how to prosecute the pathetic killer. Jamey Sheridan and Courtney B. Vance also star. TV-14

East coast airing starts in 45 minutes! Discuss.

What's everyone's favorite L&O? I usually don't like CI, but I'll watch if a good guest star is on. SVU is the only one I'll watch unconditionally. The original was good, but I'm not a Dennis Farina fan. And TbJ is great too but I'm usually far to busy with my fabulous social life and don't get around to watching it. (Read: I'm on here with my back turned from the TV.)

Hi NPH - checking in on you for the final 15 mins.

Is Twitchy McStutter interrogating him yet?

Wasn't he wonderful? (I should pop over to the NPH thread one of these days!)

I've heard the rumour of Vincent D'Onofrio getting canned too. Apparently what's really going to happen is Vincent and him will split the duties. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6937103 I can't complain - I don't like Vincent in this show. I just hope this shake-up will force the writers to give Kathryn Erbe more to do! She's such an underused talent.

Tiff,
I have often felt that Kathryn Erbe is SUCH a talented second banana to D'onofrio, who my friend calls 'The upside down man.' Personally, I'm not a Chris Noth fan, and happen to be strangely intrigued by D'onofrio, so this is both a blessing and a curse, I guess:)

You're right. Even though I'm a huge Sex and the City fan, I've always found Chris Noth to come off as sleazy and smarmy, on- and off-screen. Hopefully Det. Logan will stay as bland as he was in the original, and Erbe'll get her day in the sun!

By the way, "The upside down man"! re: Tiff's Neil Patrick Harris Public Service Announcement I suppose it's more abstract than mine: "Here we go again, Twitchy McStutter!"

Oh, I instantly understood Twitchy McStutter.

My friend calls him that because of all the time he spends twisted almost upside down to look at things, and all the sideways glances of course.

...but still, I heart him. Maybe its because of Men in Black?

I didn't know that anyone else would remember that reference! I always remember him as the horizontal-blinking alien on the Guggenheim!

Apparently he's quite difficult to work with, but I don't know if it's diva demands or just actor eccentricities.

CI is the one that got me into Law and Order (I know really late to the party), but now I only make a point to watch SVU. I got out of the habit with CI while it was conflicting with Carnivale (which if obviously much more important)

yodamarie, I totally understand. I have the same problem with "Lost" and everything else in my life...because "Lost" is OBVIOUSLY more important.
