I think the Tony awards this year needs to start with "Not Dead Yet" From Spamalot: The cast can wheel out the cart piled with corpses and start calling out the roll of the Dead: "Dracula! The Frogs! Pacific Overtures! Sweet Charity!"- and Christina Applegate can leap up off the pile singing "I'm not dead yet! I broke my foot, but I can sing and I can Dance..." Cast members from Brooklyn, Little Women, Good Vibrations, Democracy, et al, can join in. The Dodgers and the Weisslers might even get up and sing a line or two.

Brilliant!

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Good idea!

Although I PARTICULARLY resent The Frogs and Pacific Overtures being in there, when you have neglected trash like Good Vibrations and Brooklyn.

Most of the new Musicals don't come anywhere near the LEAGUE of Sondheim...

Well it was just a mention of the casts.

He's making out the shows are the trainwrecks, and Sondheim is never dead...

But I still love the premise!
