There are some great movies on this list. I love that Harold and Maude is included. I would have included Camille myself.

BROKEBACK?!?
If they were going to throw the gays a bone (ahem) they should have chosen MAURICE.

Hmmm. Moonstruck is about the only one I really think makes love look like fun. Annie Hall is great, but don't you need a happy ending or a tragic one to make a movie romantic? I prefer Hannah & Her Sisters I think.
What about Ghost? It still works. Moulin Rouge. As far as Gay movies go, I liked My Beautiful Laundrette a lot more than Brokeback.
Joe, you are so right about Hannah and Her Sisters. I had not thought of that one. It's a wonderful movie.

Kooky, that is bizarre. I just got off the phone with a friend of mine and we were talking about Enchanted April.
yes, CAMILLE! absolutely CAMILLE! or just about ANY GARBO film. and a VALENTINO film PLEASE. a big problem with these lists is the compilers have very short memories, or aren't well-rounded movie fans. there's always a disproportionate number of films when it come to older movies versus recent ones.

I doubt if these will be popular choices, but I really enjoyed "Dying Young" (LOVE Campbell Scott) and "Much Ado About Nothing" (LOVE anything with Kenneth Branagh). "Wuthering Heights" *sigh* "Jane Eyre" with Geo. C. Scott (everyone likes to feel needed) "What A Way To Go" for delightful fun (see avi) and for a gay love story I was really touched by "Nijinsky."
Louisa, was the Scott version of Jane Eyre made for tv back in the 70's? I think I remember that.
I'm glad GHOST, ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND and MOONSTRUCK made it into the list.
I disagree with ATONEMENT though, I liked the movie but I don't think it deserves to be in the top 25 most romantic movies.
I agree that MOULIN ROUGE should have made it in there.
Yes, nmartin. That's the one. It's on DVD now.
"RIP Heath. Oscars were in your future."
Annnnd I bet that's why they chose it.
Where is When Harry Met Sally? They didn't go as much for typical romantic comedies, but I still think it transcends the genre (and is waaaay better than Sleepless in Seattle).
A big yes to the Olivier/Oberon version of Wuthering Heights.
I never like their lists. They left out way too many films.
