I happen to like both-simultaneously.It does require a certain sense of balance and rhythm, but it can be very rewarding.....and oh,yeah, star on top,(hiked)skirt on bottom.

This thread is being "bumped" from the bottom, to the TOP!

And this year I haven't put up a tree, just a few lights and cards around the mantle!

I have the big Pier One star on the top and a pretty skirt on the bottom. There's also a Lenox china nativity scene in lieu of presents for now.

For a few years I wanted a Really Big Star on top of my tree so I used a picture of Paul Newman.

We did our christmas tree all in red and silver this year so we ended up putting a big santa hat on top! Something different I guess...

We have two trees:

The one we don't have a skirt, and we put an angel on top of that. This is the family tree.

The Lenox tree has my mom's snow village at the bottom- she gets at least one new addition for that every year. She used to put a gold star on top, but over the summer she got a Lenox Angel topper.
