Must really say DAMN! They are being offered 2.75 in the 1st yr 3% the 2nd yr & 3.25 % the 3rd yr. Averages to 3% a yr BUT they freaking want 3% the 1st yr! So 1.2 mill+ people are gonna be put thru the wringer for .25 of a percent!!! And as an R.N. I have been without a contract for a year and am legally prevented from striking. I have NO idea how I am going to get to work!! #*@%$ !!!

Posted: 4/8/05 at 7:44pmI feel for you, sabrelady. Vancouver went through over a YEAR LONG transit strike in...2000 (I think) and it was awful. They already had pretty healthy raises as well. And their piss poor attitudes towards their customers even before they started their salary complaints did not make me sympathetic towards their plight!

Eek. One time I got stuck in Israel because airplane gas pumpers in Cyprus were striking. But I've never had anything this long-term.
