I spent three days watching all the Tracy Takes On episodes with a friend of mine who recorded them when they originally aired. I had not seen them since they were on HBO. They are some of the funniest shows I have ever seen. Linda Granger, Fern Rosenthal, HRH and my personal favorite Ruby Romaine, make-up artist. The episode about movies is great, but especially when Ruby goes to the 'Monster-plex'.
I love Tracey Takes On!
Ruby is my favorite.
I love Ruby, too! Fern is a close second. I love the segment where Fern wins a walk-on role on DR. QUINN, MEDICINE WOMAN, which she mistakes for a guest starring role.

I love "The Trailer Tails".
Does anyone remember the one about 1976? It's the one where we find out why Linda left VIP Lounge. Ruby tells about Linda trying to sniff her translucent powder, Ruby taking it away and Linda slapping her. "I said, Miss Granger, you can go to hell and while you're there you can say hello to Marilyn and Judy for me." Ruby calls to get her fired and says in remberance, "Looking back on it I guess I was the Deep Throat that brought that bitch down."
I thought the jewish character she played (I unfortunately can't remember her name) singing "Do You Love Me?" from Fiddler in her husband's hospital room was quite hilarious.

I was really blown away by her Renee Zellwegger impression. Really brutal, I wonder what Renee did to Tracy U. to provoke it.
My favorite was Fern Rosenthal. Oh my goodness, Fern always made me laugh. I really like the theme song too!
Roscoe, Tracy's Renee Zellwegger impression was on her new show, "Tracy Ullman's State of the Union", but I agree she was spot on in her impersonation.
I love Tracy Takes On!!! I haven't seen it in such a long time. I wish I had Showtime, to see her new show.
"I really like the theme song too!"
I love that theme song, especially the way it's done.

DOH! Thanks. Still one of the most hilarious celebrity impressions ever.
I love the song and Linda Granger's Grand Battement.
In some of the episodes during the final credits, Ruby is pushing a shopping cart during that song, and she passes out in the grocery aisle. It's great.
I adore Ruby. What about when she did make up on a porn set?
"I never needed a beaver brush when I worked for Mr. Minnelli."
"It's Pepper, Pepper Kane!" "For real Ruby girl."

"Baby!
There's no need for living in the past
Now I've found good lovin' gonna make it last
I tell the others 'Don't bother me'
Cause when they look at you they don't see what I see
No I don't listen to their wasted lines
Got my eyes wide open and I see the signs
'Cause they don't know 'bout us and they've never heard of love."
Evie, I just got up and did a little Ruby dance, flask included.
