I can't say that Gaspar Noe's films are enjoyable, but they are accomplished, thought provoking, and deeply disturbing, imo.
I finally decided to watch Irreversible a couple of years ago and it was as upsetting as I had heard. But it definitely had an impact on me.
This looks to be shot in the same verite style, but with some psychedelic flourishes.

Finally saw this last night.
Watching it felt like a headache inducing endurance test. When it was finally over I felt dirty, angry, dizzy (literally), and confounded.
But I haven't been able to stop thinking about it, and the more I consider it the more my opinion changes.
One thing I can say is that it's like nothing else you've ever seen. It's like a loose adaptation of The Tibetan Book Of The Dead as done by Stanley Kubrick and Bertolt Brecht. And edited by Timothy Leary.
And of course there is graphic and ugly sex (some of which is real) as well as some of the most abrasive and audacious scenes I have ever witnessed.
Has anyone else seen it? I would love to hear someone else's interpretation of the end.
