Ok, all of you New Yorkers who are train/subway savy I need help. My brother lives in West Orange and the train station is about a mile from his house. I know that it takes one right to Penn Station, but what do I do after that to get to Times Square? I usually just drive in from PA., but will be in West Orange for the week with my niece, so I thought I'd take her in to the city. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

From Penn Station, you can take a 1, 2, 3, or 9 (look for red symbol) uptown train to 42nd Street Times Square.
If you are really ambitious, you could walk. It's not that far.
Or the A, C, or E on the 8th Ave. line to 42nd St.
it's only like a 15-20 min walk
I take the train in all the time: just walk up 7th ave. You're at 33rd St - Times Square is only about a ten minute walk, depending on how fast you go or how many store windows you stop to look at. It's a great walk unless, of course, it's raining. Have fun!
I always walk from Penn up, its not that long at all.
