Transexual Athletes

Even though this is in my blog, I want to have this discussion here where people might read it. Transexual Athletes

from https://jrbactor.broadwayworld.com/
SO, tonight I made the mistake of watching a bit of HANNITY & colmes, which had a discussion over whether or not it was fair to have a male-to-female transexual competing in women's golf as was approved recently. Surprisingly, the issue was handled tastefully even by Hannity, who obliged in respecting that we were discussing a "woman".

The opposing argument: wouldn't this athlete still possess male physical attributes that would put her at an advantage to the other golfers?

The defending argument: the conservative* Olympics did an official, in depth study on transexual athletes and concluded that there was no problem. (*using this word to mean that the Olympics are very strict, not as a political reference)

However, the opposing side still had concerns: (Well, of course, they would else the segment would amount to boring sh!t!) Wouldn't this male-born athlete still have an advantage?

Now, THIS is where I start to get pissed. The woman from the organization that deals with homophobia in sports couldn't offer more than her Olympics talking point. Frankly, I find most pro-gay pundits to be extremely lacking when put under the fire. There are only two people I have seen that argued BEAUTIFULLY and said ALL of things that I would have wanted to put across if I were going mano y mano with an O'Reilly or a Hannity or a Coulter or a Carlson or a Falwell or a Dobson or a Santorum: Elizabeth Birch (of the Human Rights Campaign) and Rosie O'Donnell.

What the defending pov lady started to say, but didn't get anywhere near was the fact that a transexual undergoes MUCH transformation--it isn't just the switcheroo of the body parts. There are immense hormonal changes made: in a male-to-female transexual, estrogen is given to begin the transformation. And the removal of the sex organs removes the testosterone. After a long period of time, the woman physically emerges-- the musculature changes from masculine to feminine, just the way testerone in a man increases the musculature from masculine to Mr. Giambi.

And, you could take one look at the golfer and see that she looked 100% like a woman in every way.

But the opposing view kept mentioning height--that men are usually taller than women. Well, heck, there are tall women and short men--what does that really prove?? If height were a factor, there would be class levels like wrestling or boxing have for weight.

So, let's just respect that if a man is a woman--she's a woman. And if a woman is a man--he's a man.

And let the games begin!

re: Transexual Athletes

Well I flip to everything to try and be "fair and balanced".

But I only feel truly "fair and balanced" when I catch BBC news, etc.
