Trendy NY Bar for party?

Looking to throw a SUPRISE party for my boyfirend's 26th bday at the end of January, and need help choosing a bar. There will probably be 20-40 people, most of them straight but a few of us homos. Looking for something trendy that holds a decent sized crowd... drink specials would be great too! Will probably start at 9:30ish and go til whenever, as all parties should.

I think Flute would be nice. It has a few locations. One downtown and one in midtown. It is a champagne bar but not expensive and a nice environment.
I also love Divine bar on west 54th.

(Call them about the Happy Hour, they have 5 dollar sangria during happy hour and the white sangria is the best I have ever tasted. It is also better than the Red Sangria)
