I am going to NYC with my gf and my parents on September 2-3. We are seeing Wicked on Thurs, and my parents are seeing either Hairspray or Mamma Mia. Any suggestions for what to do on Friday? We intend to leave the city sometime after 4...
You could either take a nice walk around the 5th aveune and central park area or take a tour of the theatre distric with a guide or the walking tour...but this is a job for...CORNIE2

If you're really into theatre, check out the Broadway memorabilia exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York, which is on 5th Avenue at 102nd Street. You can tie it in with the Guggenheim, which is about ten short blocks to the south.
I would have suggested the Forbes Magazine Collection (free) for the Faberge Exhibit, but sadly the eggs have gone back to Russia.
Just walk around and enjoy the city. Go into the shops and stores.

Although is not theater related, how about a tour of Ellis I sland and the Statue of Liberty? Very interesting if you are interesteed in the history of immigration
I went to Ellis Island and I found my great-granfather in the archives.
I wonder what he'd think of the world today...
