PIPPIN opened on Broadway on October 23, 1972, marking a milestone in the careers of Director/Choreographer BOB FOSSE and Composer/Lyricist STEPHEN SCHWARTZ.
It also marked the beginning of a wonderful partnership between BOB FOSSE and a member of this show's unique chorus.
Who was this person, and what have they gone on to do?
Good Luck!

Too easy, Doxy! Even I knew that one without cheating!
"Good luck returning my ass!" - Wilhemina Slater
"This is my breakfast, lunch and f***ing dinner right here. I'm not even f***in' joking." - Colin Farrell

CONGRATULATIONS, Melissa Errico Fan!!!
Yes, PIPPIN began a wonderful partnership between Fosse and Reinking, later resulting in Reinking winning a TONY AWARD for the musical FOSSE.
And close enough, REINKING and FOSSE were lovers! Someone took "do" a little too seriously!
For your Bonus Points:
At the beginning of PIPPIN, the LEADING PLAYER instructs the Audience to do three things, in order to "join us".
What are these three things?

Posted: 4/9/05 at 2:22pmI haven't seen or listened to PIPPIN in quite some time (I'm not a big fan, really), so I'll delegate the question to another board member who wishes to answer.

YES, Mary_Ethel!
In MAGIC TO DO, the LEADING PLAYER instructs the audience to forget about everything and waste an hour or two.
So it looks like I've got two Prizes to give!
Your Prize:
You are both going on a quest for enlightenment. Discontented with life, you are searching for meaning.
Things don't look so good, until you meet a lovely young lady, (Melissa Errico, anyone?), who you quickly fall in love with.
But easily discontented, you leave her, and are almost coaxed into suicide.
But don't worry, your HAPPY ENDING is assured, and you realise that life is worth living as long as you have love.
THANKS FOR PLAYING!!!
