Jose', you are CORRECT!!!

CONGRATULATIONS, my Friend, I KNEW You Could Do It!!!

You are a MASTER of A STAR IS BORN! re: Trivial Pursuit #115

Now for your bonus points:

When 'Vicki Lester' first hears 'Norman Maine's proposal, she does so in a QUITE UNIQUE Manner.

Please tell us how she attempts to reject Norman's proposal.

"I say YOU'RE the CUTEST one. No, I say YOU'RE the CUTEST One. And we go on like that from dawn to three."

... I guess Jose' had to step out...

So, I throw the bonus points question up to the Entire Board:

In the 1954 version of A STAR IS BORN, how does 'Vicki Lester' try to reject 'Norman Maine's proposal while singing "Here's What I'm Here For"?

"I say YOU'RE the CUTEST one. No, I say YOU'RE the CUTEST One. And we go on like that from dawn to three."

Gov., YES!!!--You GOT IT!!!

While listening to her playback of "Here's What I'm Here For", 'Vicki' playfuly rejects 'Norman's' proposal by singing parody lyrics to the song (i.e., "You Drink Too Much...")

HOWEVER, as any Garland lover KNOWS, she eventualy agrees to marry Norman!

BTW, that scene was cut from the original 1954 release and was viewed for the first time in the "restored" 1986 version.

Well, it looks like I have TWO prizes to award today:

Jose' and Gov.--you are now major motion picture stars! BUT--you have a drinking problem! And--it won't get any better when you marry a woman who turns out to be a bigger star than you!!!

But WHATEVER You Do--PLEASE stay away from those Malibu Beaches--they're a killer! re: Trivial Pursuit #115

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks!!! re: Trivial Pursuit #115

"Here's What I'm Here For":

What am I here for?
It's time you knew

Here's what I'm here for
I'm here for you

Can you forgive me?
Am I too late?

All the years that I've wandered
And pondered
Were squandered

My heart insisted
I seek you out

That you existed
My heart had no doubt

To share a journey that leads to heaven's door
You'll find is what I'm here for

What am I here for?
It's time you knew

Here's what I'm here for
I'm here for you

Can you forgive me?
Am I too late?

All the years that I've wandered
And pondered
Were squandered

My heart insisted
I seek you out

That you existed
My heart had no doubt

To share a journey that leads to heaven's door
You'll find is what I'm here for
