I have the script of Oh, Brother! in storage somewhere. But really, apart from just using it as a reference point for some jokes, OPEC really didn't factor that much into the plot of Oh, Brother! It's just The Comedy of Errors in the Middle East. Same situations and circumstances.

On the one hand, it has been stated that the script of OH, BROTHER! was rewritten a few years ago to remove its topical references.

On the other hand, it is now being stated that the plot was not really all that topical to begin with.

I am confused.

There are no other hands, Chava.

A few mentions of revolution in the script were dropped, and the Ayatolah was changed to a mystic sultan of some sort. But generally, the show's topicality was incidental to the plotting.
