In MY FAIR LADY, what is the name of the horse Eliza Doolittle is cheering on at the Ascot Races?
GOOD LUCK, Everybody!!!
Marquise, you are 100% Correct!
CONGRATULATIONS on your FIRST Trivial Pursuit Win!!!
You are quite the MFL expert, guy!
Now for your bonus points: What song was cut from the stage production of MY FAIR LADY but ultimately ended up in the film GIGI?
I'm taking a wild guess and saying:
"Say A Prayer For Me Tonight"
... I guess Marquise had to step out ...
So I open the question up to the entire Board to answer:
What song was cut from MY FAIR LADY but then ended up in the film GIGI?
Mary_Ethel I just posted my answer above your post...
Marquise,
Your quess is anything but "wild"!
ONCE AGAIN, you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!!!
Yes, "Say a Prayer" was cut from rhe stage MY FAIR LADY, inserted into the film GIGI, but then cut AGAIN from the stage version of GIGI.
CONGRATULATIONS to you for getting the bonus points!
And now your prize?
Well, how does a job selling flowers in front of an Opera House sound to you?
Have a good day, everyone--try not to get trampled by those crowds at the Mall !!!
Sorry, Marquise for that damn Message "criss-cross"!
My PC is acting a little on the slow side this morning...
OMG! I got it right?!!! I was originally going to go with "She Is Not Thinking Of Me"...
...i would only sell flowers in front of an opera house if a certain Lerner-Loewe score comes with the job...LOL

Mary_Ethel,
Here are two GIGI trivial pursuits for you.
1. Name two of the four songs written for GIGI that never made it into the film; and
2. Where was the world premiere of the film GIGI, and the post-premiere party?
Good Luck!
I believe the world premiere was at the Royale Theater on West 45th Street. (Pretty cool for a film!!)
and the party was at Sardi's.
I think I once knew the cut songs but can't remember off hand. "...am I getting old? I DON'T Remember It Well."
Yep, Andy.
The World Premiere of GIGI was just treated like a Broadway Show Opening--it sold reserved tickets in advance for its showing at a Broadway Stage Theater and had its party at Sardi's--the traditional place (for a Broadway Show) to wait for the reviews once a show had opened.
Regarding the songs that were never used? We probably could find it in THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT!: THE ARTHUR FREED UNIT, but unfortunately, I don't have the book at hand at the moment...
Ditto. My copy of that book is in storage.
Note to self: Get the good stuff back on your bookselves.

Mary_Ethel, you're wrong.
You won't find those songs in "That's Entertainment." Nor will one find them in "The World of Entertainment, Hollywood's Greatest Musicals" by Hugh Fordin.
But that was a good try!
Andy, you are correct, as Mary_Ethel "yep'd." GIGI's premiere and intial run was at the Royale theatre on West 45th Street. The first time any Shubert house was used for a film showing.
Yes, Mary_Ethel, the post-premiere party was at Sardi's. Now, about two of those four songs....?
Well, my next move would be to consult The Street Where I Live by Alan Jay Lerner (again, not at hand)...
