And cue BroadwayConcierge and Petralicious chiming in, despite the fact that they are nothing but poisonous garbage

It's an opinion piece that descends into speculation and doesn't reveal anything new.  Not sure why it deserves a new thread.  I get the feeling A Director only reads headlines and not the articles themselves.

Sorry to prove you wrong, Mister Matt.  I read the article and the comments.  Have a nice day!

Okay.  Any thoughts?  Comments?  What did you find important about this article in particular?

Kudos to you for being fair Mister Matt.  I must admit when I saw it was from Daily Kos, I figured it was some sort of BS.  They make BuzzFeed look semi-responsible in comparison.

What interested me about the article is the question, what about his mother?  She is almost never mentioned.  I did some research and found she was born in Scotland and came to this country, when she turned 18, with the intent to stay and become a citizen.  She arrived with $50, lived with one of her sisters and work as a domestic/maid.  After her marriage, she stayed in the background and donated money to various causes and charities. I SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH ANY OF THIS.

I do wonder if she had any influence on Donald?  Her two daughters are accomplished women.  Is Donald ashamed of his mother and her early life?  When and where did he learn to hate women?  Who taught him?

Personally, I think to say that he "hates women" is reductive and inaccurate.  He hates anyone who disagrees with him, male or female.  Period.  He has an old-school conservative chauvinistic and sexist view of women, but he has put women in power and relied on them both now and in the past.  He loves women that only fulfill his immediate goals and needs, whether sexually, financially or politically.  But I think you're putting too much stock in the theoretical speculation of that article, which does little more than try and propagate a conspiracy theory.  More often than not, that chauvinistic and sexist view of women is passed down from father to son and has much more to do with the father's treatment of the mother (and other women) than the mother/son relationship as well as the father's treatment of and relationship with the son.  Having worked in financial investments of various sorts for nearly 20 years, I have experienced this behavior more often than you'd probably expect in this day and age, even to such a hostile degree that I have resigned from jobs.

Most high-profile celebrities and politicians don't pontificate profusely on their mothers or parents unless there is an inspirational story to be told of a rise from struggle, psychologically or financially, of either the parents or of the subject facing adversity from the environment of his or her upbringing.  The fact that Captain Creamsicle hasn't spoken at length publicly in interviews or his vanity books doesn't tell us anything about his relationship with her nor would it.  He ONLY focuses on himself.  And his views on women are hardly uncommon among others of his ilk, so there is truly nothing special about what he has or has not said about his mother.  She may have been wonderful.  She may have been weak and submissive to her husband, playing the stereotype of the 1950s model housewife.  She may have been an alcoholic lying tramp.  It's really not that important because millions of heterosexual white men have been raised by parents of all sorts and grown up formulating a mature and respectful view of women.  Captain Creamsicle chose the selfish and egotistical antiquated conservative bubble  of the elite rich white businessman in which to live his life and impose on others.  This man is horrific, but don't get caught up in focusing on how it's about HIM, the how and why of his behavior is most likely unsurprising or enlightening, but rather how he represents a frightening systemic bigotry (of more minorities than just women) that is still far too prevalent in today's society.
