The 2026 Oscar nominations will be announced this Thursday, Jan 22. I saw a film this weekend that I think might unfortunately get overlooked: Twinless. I watched it (3) times this weekend. It's available to stream for free w/a Disney+/hulu subscription.
I love the screenplay, the direction, and especially Dylan O'Brien's performance in a dual role as twin brothers. Michael B. Jordan is getting buzz for a "best actor" nomination for also playing twin brothers in "Sinners". I saw "Sinners" and Jordan's performance, and I have to say I prefer O'Brien's work over Jordan's.
Twinless is a movie that shouldn't be talked about until after it's been seen. It's also a movie that should be watched at least twice (you really will appreciate the second viewing).
The nice thing about streaming a movie vs seeing it in a theater is that you can view it again immediately after your first viewing. ...and that's exactly what I did. To tell you why would constitute a "spoiler", but it will be like watching a wholly different movie if you watch at least the first 20 minutes of the film immediately after you finish your first viewing. If you have a Disney+/hulu subscription, check it out.

Watched this again, yesterday and noticed some parallels to both "Dear Evan Hansen" and "The Light in the Piazza":
• Roman and Clara (from ...Piazza) share life altering incidents that shape their characterizations
• The song, Crazy For This Girl by Evan and Jaron is significantly used twice in the film. Its first use parallels Evan and Conner's relationship described in the song, For Forever from "Dear Evan Hanson". Also, when the refrain of Crazy.. starts, you can sing or hum the refrain of For Forever over it, and they are musically compatible. Coincidentally, both songs are linked by the name, "Evan".
