Hmm texting. I must admit that I am a fan.
But I don't do it in class, at the theater, or while I am having a one on one conversation.
I simply see it as another way to communicate with the people I care about.
Twitter is GAY!

Well, I've done it. I've started up a Twitter account called OthelloAbridged that reduces every speech from Shakespeare's Othello into 140-character soundbites.
If anything, it helps people understand the...essence of Shakespeare. Unfortunately, it ultimately turns into a lot of, "Iago: I still hate the Moor" posts.
I admit, I have a Twitter and yes it is VERY addicting, but I am glad I have it.
I follow Regina Spektor and she hadn't posted in about a month, but when she posted earlier this month, she stated that her new cd was coming out in June and gave a link to her interview. I was so excited. I looked on her website, it still has yet to be updated since December... so, if it wasn't for Twitter, I would not know about her cd :)

I love you, Schmerg. Now I might actually have to go on Twitter.
"I simply see it as another way to communicate with the people I care about."
Twittering and texting basically says, to me, "I want to tell you something (stupid) but I don't actually want to talk to you."
It reminds me of being a Stage Manager in the early 90's and having to calleveryone with needed information. I kept begging for answering machines to pick up.
Well, if I ever have anything to say to you Diva, I'll be sure to post it here on BWW so you will hopefully find it worthy of reading.
Schmerg, I was wondering who that was! It was too amusing to ignore though. Othello is totally my favourite tragedy (no matter how much Hamlet would desperately like to ascend from second place), and I look forward to 140 character handkerchief drama. ;D
Humanity's just going through more stuff. Same seven stories, different winamp skins. People need love, attention, technology can be isolating, might as well use it to socialize to some degree, after the apocalypse people will go back to sending messages by mutant pigeons which takes a lot of time so no one will be able to share their every thought, etc.

I look forward to that day.
I use Twitter more for myself than anything else... it's a more high-tech way to make a to-do list (Example: "Must remember to bring Emily my Mad Men dvds!") or remember bits and pieces of my day that are amusing but forgettable ("Just found a chunk of pretzel (stadium style, not Rold Gold) in my purse. What in the world..."). It's good times.
So, what are you doing?
