Cheney, Libby and Rove can be thanked today for this great milestone.
2000!
Did you notice it was the main story on the International version of cnn.com but not the US version?
not to mention civilian deaths.

I am certainly not discounting the death of thousands of innocents, but want to acknowledge this milestone.

oh, that wasn't a negative comment about you, brdlwyr. i just think it's interesting that only the US military deaths are counted.

I was just clarifying because the loss of life is disturbing every day.
Are there any independent numbers that you are aware of?
Those are the only deaths they care about, c...and even then, it's marginal at best.
iraqbodycount.com says between 26 and 30,000 total deaths.

I assume Bush will instantly become deaf when asked by a reporter about this number, or Scott can say that it is part of an ongoing investigation.
Horrible. Aboslutley horrible.
I've been screaming "You stupid f***ing idiot!!" at my TV whenever President Dips**t is on.
moveon.org is arranging for vigils tomorrow night at 6:30 across the country. You can sign up to host one, or attend one near you...

A war that should never have happened.
The United States became an aggressor in the eyes of the world, and Osama bin Ladin was never brought to justice.
Impeach Bush.

That doesn't include all the young men and women who were maimed because they dont' want us to know the casualty figures.
Most of our young men and women couldn't even legally buy a drink as they were only 19 or 20.
Remember them.

I find it so sad to know that over 2000 young men and women from this country lost their lives for a lie.
I also find it so sad that I can name in the double digits friends and family I have lost from this war....such a shame...

Just sad for their families. What about Afganistan? is that for both?
Y2K?
Over 2,000 Americans died in Iraq.
WHY?
Y2K?

As Arianna points out: This is why the CIA outing is much, much worse than Watergate: No one died because of Watergate.

Ummmmmmm...the exclamation point really freaks me out...I know it's in jest, but it's really bothering me...

The New York Times published the pictures of all of the soldiers lost. Very moving.
VERY moving.
I was reminded of the Portraits of Grief, following September 11th.
Arlington National Cemetary featured artist renderings of some of the fallen soldiers a few months ago. It was quite moving and brought tears to my eyes. It's one thing to hear a number, but when you can place a face with that number, it's much more powerful.
