National Board of Review announced their year end best today (they are one of the first critics groups to do so).
Good news for UP IN THE AIR and Clint Eastwood's INVICTUS.
They weren't feeling the love for NINE or PRECIOUS which were completely cut out, except for a Best Promising Newcomer Award.
Also MIA - THE LOVELY BONES, AVATAR and CRAZY HEART...

Isn't this the committee that nominated the RENT movie in 05?
Whatever. They're a joke. And that list proves it.
And could UP IN THE AIR look any more mid-00s snide and Clooney any smarmier? Pass, though Reitman is certainly talented. That being said, if he gets an Oscar before PTA I'm gonna scream.

I thought WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE was probably one of the most pointless movies I saw all year. I'd stop dozing off whenever I'd hear Lauren Ambrose's voice, but otherwise, I thought it was one of the most boring movies I've seen. And what an annoying kid!
And I really don't get the STAR TREK love.
I also find it shocking that they fell for Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela.
I guess I'm happy for Carey Mulligan and Anna Kendrick. Does this mean anything for the Best Leading Actress race? I imagine Mulligan is the frontrunner at this point.
