URGENT QUESTION

okay so i have a resume and a picture of myself and the whole thing and i want an agent to help me find gigs and all that. Now, last time i asked this question, i never got a straight answer. I got things like "you won't get a meeting with them just by calling!!" and i appreciate your words of support but i would REALLLy like a straight answer. What do i say to them when I call? For expample, do i just say "hi i'm kelley and i'd like an agent." or what do i say? thanks!

You are probably not going to be able to talk to them when you call. Your best bet is to send your Headshot and Resume to several agencies with a cover letter explaining that you would like to be considered for representation by their company. If you would like, you could also send along in the package a recording of yourself singing several songs. That probably is your best bet, just make sure that your package is professional, your cover letter in particular. Hope that helps. It might take a while for them to get back to you, if they even get back to you at that, but it is more professional to go about it that way instead of calling and asking for them to accept you over the phone.

Or you could possible set up an "audition/interview" by phone call, but I wouldn't call asking them to represent you.
