*sigh* I can't believe that the one year I had to miss the final weekend turned out to be such a special one for Martina. What a note to end on! I'm hoping that her induction ceremony turns up online somewhere.
And, I AM a big fan of Roger - have been since he won the Jr. Wimbledon championship. And now he's the first one to win Wimbledon and the US three years in a row! They won't be the last, probably. And he'll probably continue to display the grace and poise that is lacking in so many high-profile athletes. I continue to feel hope because of people like him and Tiger, who present positive images for youth and do so many good things with their blessings.
Since I can only go by the match statistics, all I can say is that the women's final must have been . . . different. Good for Maria to show she wasn't a one-hit wonder - but I still wish she'd tone down the screaming. I can't watch her play with the sound on!
DG, when she won, she acted like a champion. She was excited and she just looked for her father. Henin-Hardenne(sp) looked devastated though.
Federer, as good as he is, is a machine. He's not even fun to watch anymore.

"He's not even fun to watch anymore."
People used to say that about Pistol Pete, as well - and I liked him, too
I'm always entertained watching something executed perfectly.
I can't say I'm too big on Justine - I think she plays games other than tennis. And how nice to know Ms. Sharapova handled it well - she earned it.
