University of Hartford

Has anyone been to this school who is an upcoming sophomore, junior, or senior who is majoring in Music Theatre? If so, what songs did you audition with, and as a girl who has an Alto/Soprano voice, belting to C/D; any suggestions on audition pieces?

well, I didn't go, but a close friend did for one year. but it wasn't for him. I don't think you should worry about a song that showcases your belt, because my friend says that the school is very legit oriented, and they put on more "traditional" shows.

I would find a nice Rodgers and Hammerstein or a Cole Porter, preferably uptempo, showing a lot of character.

i.e -I've got a brand new Hairdo, I caint say no, always true to you in my fasion.

one of my friends is going there this year...i know one of her songs was "change" from a new brain

I'm an AT major there, but a couple of the MT majors told me their songs. One of the ones I know of was "Unusual Way" from Nine, but that may be a bit high for you.
