I just finished watching this documentary, featuring Danny Glover and narrated by Peter Coyote. I knew bits and pieces--and had followed the events in Florida for the most part. But to see all the facts laid out and truth brought to the surface is astonishing!
I highly recommend this documentary. The last election was rigged. NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. And, the fact that it could very likely happen again is HEARTBREAKING. I think we need to remember what happened then so that we as a people never allow it to happen again and again.
Ultimately, the fact that Bush was allowed to "win" the election IS Gore's fault for not having a state wide manual re-count take place. This is a mistake that no politician will ever make again. But, had 1000s of African Americans and Hispanics not been turned away from their right to vote due to a highly fraudulent felony record purge, that mistake wouldn't have even been an issue. THAT is where the injustice lies--that people's civil rights were violated.
And, as the documentary I viewed (from Netflix) is the 2004 edition, I see that there is much to fear about these computer voting stations. They are very easy to tamper with.
