And isn't the Producers the 24th of April? Ah all these movies I want, yet so little money!!!
Hmmm...for some reason, I thought Good Night and Good Luck was coming out on Feb. 28th.
I can't wait for the Collector's Edition of "Walk the Line"
I know, Love4Cheno! I think I saw that it's at FYE for $18 w/ the mail in rebate. I read some review on-line and it sounds like the deleted scenes are a bit of a disappointment, but the director's commentary is supposed to be great. I'm kind of iffy on the 3 docu-featurettes though. From what I've gathered, they're all just about Johnny and June. Don't get me wrong, I definitely want some bio-type stuff on there, but I was also hoping for more of a Making Of (especially with Joaquin/Reese singing and/or recording, etc) featurette.
Late April will see the release of a few great M-G-M musicals --Judy Garland and Gene Kelly in "Summer Stock", the all-star "Till The Clouds Roll By", Kelly and Cyd Charrisse in "It's Always Fair Weather", Fred Astaire and Vera-Ellen in "Three Little Words" and the all-star "Zeigfeld Follies". All will have introductions and some will have out-takes.
Amazon has the box set listed for around $42 bucks. Pretty darn cheap!
Brokeback needs a date!
Brokeback is doing too good in theatres to worry about a DVD date. I think they will probably wait and see if they win any Oscars before going to DVD.
I was watching the Olympics last night, and they were doing the "brought to you by" things right before a commercial, and they said Walk the LIne was coming out today, but then I saw a longer commercial for it where it said the 28th. Must have been a mistake.
I figured. I'm just impatient!
Me too. I want to see it a second time, but I was such a mess the first, I'd rather weep in the privacy of my own home.
Anyone else excited about Lady and the Tramp on DVD?
MEEE. I have the VHS!
My boyfriend hates Disney. So I'll have to watch in secret.
I love that movie.
Bum bum bum ruff!
aw, why would you hate Disney?
No idea. He's more of a Bugs Bunny fan I guess. He had this period where he dated 3 guys in a row who talked about Disney 24/7 so it may have to do with burnout.
Lady and the Tramp was the first film I clearly remember seeing at the movie theater.
LADY AND THE TRAMP is the first Disney movie I ever saw, and the first VHS I ever owned...I must get the DVD.
BROKEBACK is projected for April.
yaaay, it'll be a birthday present!
My first Disney movie (and movie ever) was The Little Mermaid.
That was my sister's, too.
My guess is, BROKEBACK will follow the MILLION DOLLAR BABY strategy. Wasn't that out in May of last year? If it loses, it may be April, but I'd assume they'd hope for another 10-15 million in theaters if it gets BP. It's down to 1600 theaters, but still came in at 11th last week after 11 weeks.
Is this the original STREETCAR with extras? I saw the one with restored scenes, so I'm curious what they'd add. I'd still like to see other STREETCARS on DVD, both Lange-Baldwin and the Ann-Margaret.
