Go Kerry! Although, I'm in Texas, so I'm pretty sure my vote won't count...but I'm still voting nonetheless!
Thank you!
GET OUT AND EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE! And make it KERRY!!
Just a few more hours and the Creep from Crawford = gonzo!! :)
I wish I could vote.
Just returned from voting. I live in Brooklyn, NY. The voting machine for my district was broken. First time in my life I had to fill out a paper ballot and I'm none too happy about it. Although we were assured that our votes would be counted by tonight, I know there's always a chance that a paper ballot will get lost in the shuffle. I just can't believe that in the 21st century and our voting system and process is as antiquated as it is. Why can't there be one uniformed national process? Why, in the year 2004, can't we be assured of an accurate vote count right down to the very last vote. Our banking system seems to work. All the money gets counted right down to the very last dollar. When you deposit or withdraw money from an ATM you get an exact dollar amount. There's no guess work involved. If we can have a near perfect nation wide banking system, why can't we have a voting system that counts votes with the same level of accuracy that we count money???
That said... GO VOTE!!!
Already voted! And so should you!
I completely understand that feeling of living in a solid red or blue state and feeling like your vote doesn't count--but just remember that our votes help our candidate's popular vote numbers. That meant something in 2000 and will definitely mean something this year.
Voted in Central Connecticut this morning. The poll workers are extremely strict and nearly had me shot because I was standing a little too past the check-in line, and also because I didn't have my NEW address on the back of my driver's license. I had a million forms of ID. I thought for sure they were going to tell me I couldn't vote.
Commie Connecticut.
How's everyone else's voting going?
I voted at 6:30 this morning & there were already lines!
Yay for voters!

if you think about it.. it's silly to vote because of the electoral college. i am only 15 and i understand how important this election is but i mean.. 4 times the real winner has not been chosen because of the electoral college. and it makes me wonder.. why vote? ..
Because it's your civic duty and without exercising this liberty why have it. If the popular vote doesn't coincide with the winner, I bet people will start talking about getting rid of the ellectoral college more seriously.
Did you hear what Tim Russert said on Fox news? "People don't stand in line for 4 hours to vote to tell the President he's doing a great job." LOL
I don't know about the validity of that statement (there are a lot of people out there that think Bush has been annointed by God and would brave Meduza to keep him in office), but it does give one food for thought.
Ought to be interesting tonight.

yes they will talk about it but they never will get rid of it. ever. it will always be there. it has been there since the beginning and they think america is too dumb to pick the right person for president.
**and of course once i am 18 i will vote.. i am just curious as to why we do it..

Every vote matters. Look what happened in Florida last election, as I told you in a previuos thread.

I'm in NJ and voted at 7:15 AM. I was in and out in 10 minutes. And I donated my bags of leftover Halloween candy to the voting center staffers. They're going to have a mega-intense day and be seriously overworked so I hope the lollipops help.
Go Kerry/Edwards!
Thanks for reminded me...I almost forgot.
I feel left out! I voted three weeks ago (by absentee ballot) in NJ.
