re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

The simple fact that you use PETA as a way to attempt to convert us meat eaters negates anything you have to say about the matter.

re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

Well, PETA can be... somewhat sane... sometimes!

Why, it's not a promotional video but a simple look inside slaughter houses, not staged at all.

re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

Yeah, PETA is only something you pass on AFTER someone stops eating meat. I think PETA does some decent things but they do a lot of crazy, too. I mean, Obama can't swat a fly? Come on.

That said, I am a veg, too! re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

Because it was created by PETA. An organization created on hypocrisy & lies.

JerseyGirl2... he shouldn't have swatted that fly! And yes, vegetarian pride! :) Haha.

re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

Just use Mr Roxy as an example of why all that red meat he's let sit and rot in his colon has caused him so many health issues. I wouldn't ordinarily pick on the victim of health problems, but he did used to go on and on about how much he loved eating dead animals and smoking cigars because he thought it would piss people off. And now chunks of him have been cut out. Better than anything PETA says.

re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

Oh lord. It was a FLY. In 2005, two people were charged with 31 counts of animal cruelty after cops found them dumping the bodies of 18 animals they had just picked up at an animal shelter. They took the praise for rescuing the animals so they wouldn't be put to death. They killed them in a van once they left the shelter. They worked for PETA.

There have been many stories of PETA "rescuing" animals from labs and such and then killing them.

Hey, that fly deserved to live too! And actually, I detest PETA... but on that, I had to agree with them... that poor fly re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

The fly should have known better than to mess with the Prez.

re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

If veganism is your thing, have at it. I'm a foodie so it would be hard to go vegan for me.

I think PETA is a pile of sh**. A big boiling pot of hypocrisy.

Maybe they started out as a well-intended organization, but they've been bastardized by Hollywood and have become an overexposed celebrity. Reminds me of this comedian on Chelsea Lately claiming he went to a PETA barbeque and said "I guess you can BE a cow, you can EAT a cow....you just can't wear one!"

Give me ASPCA anyday.
I don't WANT to live in what they call "a certain way." In the first place I'd be no good at it and besides that I don't want to be identified with any one class of people. I want to live every whichway, among all kinds---and know them---and understand them---and love them---THAT's what I want! - Philip Barry (Holiday)

re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

I am not a vegetarian only because I think that the killing and eating of other animals is natural and part of nature and the food chain, not just for humans but for other animals as well.

With that said, I am convinced that PETA is a group that is full of people who are bat**** crazy. Now, I am not saying this because I am not a vegetarian I have friends who are and prefer ASPCA over PETA any day of the week. I feel that the stuff that PETA does is borderline ecoterrorism.

re: Vegetarians Save Lives!

That's why I LOLed at people in this thread, who have otherwise mocked PETA, saying the organization should "do something" about the zoo animals. ZOO ANIMALS!
