when i first started working on broadway shows, in the mid 90's, i kept seeing this guy at every opening night i went to and practically every show i went to. just looking at him, i knew he was
somebody but i had no idea who. at one party we were standing next to each other at the bar and i just blurted out (so i'd had a few scotches), "i see you everywhere, who the hell are you?" he laughed and said, "i was just thinking the same thing. i'm victor garber." being new to broadway, that meant absolutely nothing to me and obviously the alcohol allowed my eyes to betray that fact. he kindly said, "i'm an actor." we had a nice chat and then i went home and googled him when i sobered up. very nice guy, good actor too.
