GummyVites are much more grown up, you should try those.
Ugh, I have to allot a few extra minutes in the morning for vitamins.

i take an all natural whole foods multi-vitamin.
and i take 12 cal-mag caplets x_X if anyone knows of an all natural allergy free cal-mag that has 1200 mg in 1 pill, i'll love you forever.
I keep forgetting which vitamins do what. I take some. B, B-12, D and some others. I figure as long as you've got the complete alphabet, you're pretty well covered.
Right now, I take a multivitamin and have just started adding gound flax seeds to my diet.
does anybody here take fish oil pills? i recently had an injury related to running, and somebody reccomended them...
I take a multivitamin that has like everything in it. I was taking flaxseed oil capsules for awhile, but I stopped because they were a pain in the ass to swallow.
Maybe fish oil decreases inflamation? No clue. That would have been useful when I messed up my knee and ankle...

Have I forgotten anything? That is always the question every day.
Yes, I spend upwards of $1200 per year on this stuff. I think I have a star on the Vitamin Shoppe Walk of Fame...
Bear in mind that I take virtually all my vitamins in the evening because caffeine and alcohol flush all the B vits plus vit C out of your system. I don't drink liquor and am finished my coffee ritual by 7:15 in the morning.
Sometimes I also think I am certifiable.
WOSQ, do you eat any food during the day, or are you living the Jetsons meal-in-pill-form lifestyle?
Definitely Echinacea (sometimes I take the vitamin, sometimes drink the tea) & Vit C cause I get colds easily...
Also Flaxseed Oil to get my Omegas since I'm vegan...
And some Vit E and Selenium.
Also, superfoods and acai juice have tons of good-for-you stuff like algae and wheat grass and veggies. I usually have one or two of those every day.
i drink anywhere from 2 to 4 vitamin waters a day. does that count for anything?
the one i'm drinking now has vitamins a, c, e, b3, b6, b12, b5, calcium, folic acid, magnesium and zinc in it. :)

WOSQ, you remind me of my Uncle! He takes like 40 vitamins a day, and we all think he's nuts - it's always a big production when he comes over for dinner and takes loads of the pills!
I try and get most of my vitamins through food, a good cereal is full of stuff that the body needs.
I also put two tablespoons of ground flax seed into my cereal or oatmeal in the morning and take Omega 3 fish oil every night (3000 mg).
My doc told me to go on a low fat diet and take fish oil pills daily for high cholesterol - I did just that and my cholesterol went down significantly in a 2 month period (and I lost 8 pounds)!

I dole out the hefty dinnertime batch in an old 35mm film canister and carry this with me. It is a hidden skill that I produce so much saliva that I can take these all without water. I cram them into my mouth and swallow them one or two at a time. (Is this TMI?) Anyway I feel like Patty Duke when I do this.
Let me say that I am not what one would term young--sort of advanced middle age--oh, what the hell, I'll be 57 in 10 days. But I am an athlete (six Gay Games and counting), and these supplements do just that, particularly the algae--supplement my diet and stave off some muscle loss as well as give out energy.
I also have a weakness for things that are not always good for me: candy, cheese, fried food and good looking swimmers in their 20s and 30s.
But life can be very very good sometimes.
Wow! Lots of good stuff going on here. WOSQ, you should never get sick! Much of what you take is really essential but I wonder if you've ever had a blood series done to see exactly what your body requirers.
I did this about 5 years ago with a dietician. It proved to be invaluable. They run a spectrum of certain elements which tell you exactly what your body needs and doesn't need. It's a bit expensive but it only needs to be done every 4-5 years.
I don't tell people what to take or how to excersize...but I know for a fact that most OTC vitamin formulas(centrum, 1 a day, GNC etc) make healthy sewars as you eliminates up to 80 % of them before they get "into" your body. It's wasted money.
It's important to find products that quickly break down upon injestion so that you get the full benefits of whatever you choose to take. You can wash them down with beer(as a few of my roudy friends told me) as long as they get into your system within a few hours.
A good antioxident, (grape seed extract is one) are important and yes the Omega fish oils are excellent. The foods we eat are so weak and tainted. People really need to make better choices and take quality supplements. Two companies I found to have excellent supplements are Melaleuca & Starlight International.
I take about 12 supplements daily and am in excellent health. Haven't been on scrips. in years. I attribute it to my diet and lifestyle and feel very fortunate.

Now if PB ENT. could find a vitamin that would help her to spell "exercise" correctly she'd really impress us!
Sad. Terribly sad.
I actually take multi-vitamins and fiber. These things called "Vita-Splash" you put them in your water like the crystal light packets, and they actually taste better.
