My voice teacher told me that I am having a "voice opening." After months of training, she says, there comes a point where the vocal chords and throat muscles just relax. This causes a tickling in the throat, possibly loosing your voice for a day or two. and when you sing, it is very unpredictable and shaky, but enormously louder and fuller. However, the support is now weaker than the vocal chords, so you have to be very careful not to strain yourself. Everything she says makes sense, and I seem to be experiencing it, but I've never heard of a voice opening anywhere else, nor can I find info on line. Anyone else heard of these? Or had one?
