Sorry I've been awol, can't truly give an exciting reason for my BWW absence, life's just been keeping me busy!
I hope this finds you all well, catching up on a few things I really liked 'Superman Returns', and LOVED 'Strangers with Candy'! I finally saw my bud Tina Maddigan go on as Julia in The Wedding Singer and was in awe at how talented that lil' gal is, the whole show is a delight!Caught the new leads in my beloved Mr. Shaiman's 'Hairspray', I'm so happy to say the show's still in excellent shape, Blake Hammond and Stephen DeRosa's antics during "Timeless to Me" were sublime and hilarious(it was also the best sung version of the song I've ever heard!). Jersey Boys is AMAZING, kudos to the entire production, just WOW! Speaking of those boys from Jersey I had the chance to spend a wonderful dinner with Tommy DeVito, one of the original Four Seasons! Hearing the stories of the groups early days right from the source was something I won't soon forget! He's a gem of a person and it was an honor to spend the evening with him, his wife and family. I was able to be there because of my buddy Joey Reynolds, the ultimate radio talk show king, his overnight show on WWOR is a Broadway lovers dream, as a matter of fact I'll be on it again soon because of something I'll be doing very soon at The Laurie Beechman Theater!
A number of months ago I was in the show, Move It And It's Yours, it was written by Bill Weeden and starred the always lovely and talented Natalie Joy Johnson, well the creative team has created an evening of Bill's music, entitled "INTO THE WEEDS" and they asked me to be a part of it, it opens Saturday August 5th and runs the next three Saturdays after that, all performances start at 10:30pm, The Laurie Beechman is located at 407 W. 42nd St, it a swell place below the West Bank Cafe. It would be great if youse mugs could make it, Bill Weeden's music is really special and the cast is young and sexy, well everybody except me! Hah.
There is also some other fun stuff coming up for the fall months, but I don't wanna jinx it, but if everything stumbles into place it should be an incredible Holiday season! And I wanna give a shout out to Phantom2 for being a true friend, he's the most supportive spook in town! Ok, off to make the donuts, love ya all!
