He's a member (or former member) of the a capella group "Straight, No Chaser". They were originally a student group at Indiana University. AS video of their rendition of "Twelve Days of Christmas" became a viral hit on YouTube, and they re-formed, recorded an album and went on tour. they have done a coulpe of specials on PBS as well. His father and brother are also Chicago TV news personalities.
