im quite suprised since she has a kid and was briefly married, but as a wnba fan, im glad she came out. even though im not a lesbian 
Sueleengay, i have soo much more admiration and respect for her for saying that its time to stop worrying (the media) about what you do with your personal life/who you love as long as whatever you do is done well

cut her some slack. she's one of the few (only?) to come out while still playing as a professional and at the top of her game...
now if we can only get a football, hockey or baseball player to do the same thing.

RobbO - I'm not giving her a hard time at all - I think it's great! I was just following the train of thought of "What are the odds?"
And there aren't any gay men in professional sports. We're all hairdressers, interior designers or priests.

I'd give that distinction to Martina navratilova - and it definitely hurt her endorsement prospects for years and years. let's hope the same thing doesn't happen here.

Posted: 10/26/05 at 10:17amYes, Navratilova was playing in a much higher-profile, more popular sport. But remember, that was many years ago - I'm guessing not only in 2005, but in the WNBA, her career and endorsements are not going to be anywhere near as damaged as Navratilova's were.
