Remember a year and a half ago when folks were using the word "brokeback" was an adjective? As in "Dude, that pink shirt is totally brokeback!"

I never got that whole phenomena...unless they were actually commenting on the swipe of a tongue on a palm as lube portion of the film, "That's sooooo Brokeback" was "We Tall Did."
Ugh. For years, whenever one of my friends says something like, "My calculator is so gay," I've always ended up saying something like, "Your calculator likes other calculators?" Usually, they think I'm agreeing with them and segue into a whole 'gay calculator' speech, and then they start talking about how their math teachers are gay and everyone in their math class is gay. And that's just calculators. It's even worse in the theatre department. (Believe it or not, no one in my school's theatre department is openly gay. It's all a bunch of effeminate boys trying to prove just how straight they are.)
I love Wanda, but she should be fighting the disservice that her show is doing to gay men and women by presenting a storyline that would lead people to believe that if a same-sex couple were to marry in California or Massachusetts, they would be afforded the same immigration rights as heterosexual couples. It's not true. And it isn't funny to those individuals, like me, who are in that situation.
