Saw it last night

Did not think it was as great as many think it is. The entire Tim Robbins episode was totally unnecessary. Why Speilberg thought it necessary to inject cannibalism (injesting human flesh & blood)as the reason why the aliens got our germs escapes me ? This coming from a man who was so anti violence he had the guns from the police in recent video releases of ET removed is a shock . The 1950's version was cheesy & the effects now dated but it seemsed a more simpler story than this with all the other stuff (9/11 hints) added

The boat scene was totally predictably. I give it an 8 from a man I would have expected a 10 from. Glad I did not spend $ 10.25 for it

I think they supposedly got the germs (or at least some of them did) from drinking the water in Tim Robbin's basement.

"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

AHHH BUT IF THEY STUDIED HUMAN LIFE FOR MILLIONS OF YEARS THEY SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THESE GERMS!!!!

*screaming ceases*

That totally bugs me.

"It's a great feeling of power to be naked in front of people. We're happy to watch actual incredible graphic violence and gore, but as soon as somebody's naked it seems like the public goes a bit bananas about the whole thing."

Not all of them. They were rounding up people to eat pure & simple. Saw no reason for that being put in @ all

I think the human blood was used as fertilizer for the aliens to terraform the planet. Anyway, I didn't like the movie that much either.

Well, not only is there already a thread on this film, I'm pleased to see you have no shame in admitting that you engage in the vile habit of piracy.

This is a film that demands to be seen on the big screen. I loved it!

But, they destroyed Jersey! Give them SOME credit.

exactly--how can anyone appreciate the visuals of ANY film when it's been captured on a freaking cam corder??

It was not the visuals . It was the story & how it was done.
