Wow! I can see all the freckles on Shirley MacLaine's face.
And seeing 60s New York in HD is pretty cool. It's not out on Blu-ray yet, but it's obviously been remastered in hi-def and looks fantastic!
It's playing on one of my dish HD channels for free right now. I'm recording it on my DVR!
I can't wait for other musicals to be remastered in HD. I've already recorded the music man too. They look so great!

I just never thought I'd see this movie look THIS good!
I'm doing a little "happy dance."
Fosse choreography, of course.

Posted: 11/2/08 at 8:39pmI always found this film fairly unwatchable. I've never been a an of Fosse's choreography (although I do like some of his work on this film), and MacLaine just leaves me ice cold. I like it on stage, though.

Well, then... don't watch it in HD, JB2.
I love the movie! Always have. But I was surprised to see those freckles on Shirley. Peeking through her makeup.
Although...I could also see the serious eye liner, brown eye shadow, and tan pancake makeup on John McMartin.
Ooops!

Posted: 11/2/08 at 10:40pmBesty- I SO wish I lived closer to you! I would be over your house every weekend enjoying all of these movies with you! I love the music in Sweet Charity and the dancing is just- well- you know! I watched an Anne of Green Gables marathon today on my local PBS station. I loved this series as the cast was outstanding! It was such a nice break from the politics!

I loved every single individual element of this film - I just didn't care for the film at all. I could never figure out why.
(And the truth is "Rich Man's Frug" is one of my all time favorite dance routines from any film!)
A click for life.
