..... is about as exciting as watching paint dry.
If I hear Willie Randolph or any more of the players spout platitudes again,I will upchuck. The team is not hitting & has not since day one. The is the 2 nd out of 3 seasons when Beltran has been sub par . Offensive numbers for Delgado, Wright & Reyes are all down.Alou missed a good part of the year. Ruben Gotay at second was doing great so naturally the Mets trade for a second baseman with no power & bench Gotay. Pure Mets.
I doubt they will make the playoffs but if they sneak in as a wildcard look for an early exit. They do not have to do the massive rebuilding the Yankess do but changes are needed. Trade Beltran if you can & go from there
Imagine the yankees hitting & the met pitching. The pitching is failing now as the pitchers know they almost have to pitch a shutout every time they take the mound.
I swear the Mets could take DiMaggio & Gehrig & turn them into 200 hitters. The season is best summed up by this: Beltran injures himself swinging in batting practice
What are you smoking? The mets are one of the highest scoring teams in the NL.
Reyes and Wright's numbers are both up from last year. Yeah delgado started the season terribly but his numbers recently are great.
As for signing a second baseman with no power...I too thought gotay was great but he ALSO has no power! And now we have better defense at second base.
Don't get me wrong the mets still have plenty of problems but they are still by far the best team in ny!

YUMMY
Their numbers are less than last year. They are leaving men on base @ an alarming rate

Actually Reyes is having a much better year than last and David seems on target to be about the exact same. With David having more stolen bases, runs, and walks. And reyes having more walks and a higher batting average.

ok and that pic has to do with mets why?
It has nothing to do with it but it is there
Agree, Roxy ! I live and die with this team, but the offense is a cure for insomnia this year !!!
I just hope they dont blow tonight's game, like they did last night (although, cant fault Wagner... he has been great !)
I have a feeling Wright gets that 3rd HR tonight !!
Every night there is a new culprit
Tonight it was MOTA
More like it was Randolph for letting Mota pitch !!!
Mota pitched better when he was doing drugs. I think the whole team needs it
At least you guys aren't Phillies fans and everytime the bullpen comes into a game you have to take every antacid drug known to man to make your stomach settle...
You still do with the Mets
