re: 'We deserve answers, Mr. President' (Joe Scarborough)

brd - I have unfortunately reached the point where I only believe things when I see them - and what I've seen so far is staggeringly sickening. It is truly beyond my comprehension that some of these people are actually saying some of the things attributed to them. The only thing worse is the fact that some people are actually believing it.

But now the administration is telling you NOT to believe what you have seen. And the VP is saying that "everybody is upbeat," except for the heckler who told him to go F himself. And Brian Williams on The Daily Show said as of yesterday the media were being intimidated by the gun toting cops and military members, so it looks like the administration is trying to get control over the media so that you can't see with your own eyes what they're busy trying to spin into non-existence.

Well THIS will certainly make things all better!

Bush declares Katrina prayer day -
US President George W Bush has declared Friday 16 September a national day of prayer and remembrance for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.

As Jon Stewart pointed out, a hurricane is "an act of God" so should we really spend the day talking to him? Shouldn't Bush declare a "Day of Shunning God" to teach him a lesson? We should hold God accountable for this crap!

My prediction: The Rovian Swift-boating of Blanco is being developed. The Times piece today on the stultifying power-plays between the Governor and the foot-dragging Team Bush will be a springboard for Karl and Company to make "a lady Governor" the root of all error. Brit Hume's odious little panel on Fox, spearheaded by the Bush-licking Fred Barnes, was already sliming her bigtime, basically saying the woman tied the President's hands.
