Bway - Oh, Brett Easton Ellis is so absolutely for the over-everything crowd! Haven't read him in years.

Glad you liked ...Mr. Norrell re: We haven't done this in a while....

Oh, I loved Strange and Norrell. In fact, I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel (which is so very neatly set up in the novel) and what I no doubt expect to appear on film within a year or two. Ian McKellen as Norrell, with perhaps some hunky new British hottie as Strange?
I have to admit utter fascination (my new catchphrase) with Ellis. He has a very warped mind. I mean, has anyone here read "Glamorama"?

Not to pimp my politics too much but Ayn Rand IS a libertarian, ya know. re: We haven't done this in a while....

I cannot recommend EVERYTHING by Nick Hornby highly enough!! "How to be Good" is the best novel I have read in the past year. Get it. Read it. You will thank me. If you've just seen the movie of "High Fidelity", I encourage you to read the book as well. It's like a magnifying glass into the male (admittedly, heterosexual) mind. Brilliant!

Word. Word, indeed.

Digital Fortress by Dan Brown.

It's alright, but I'm not finding it as quick of a read as "Deception Point" or "Angels and Demons".

This was Dan Brown's first book, which might explain why I'm not as crazy about it. It's in a different format, and doesn't get right to the point, the way his other books do.

"Do you know what pledge time is, Andrew"? said the PBS Executive. "Yes", Lloyd Webber replied. "My 50th birthday special must be one program that gets done a lot." "No", mused the man from PBS heedlessy. "Not so much. Our Stephen Sondheim Carnegie Hall concert. That's a big one." Spoons, forks and knives seemed suddenly to suspend their motion in horror, all around the table.

I enjoyed Digital Fortress more than Deception Point, but that's because I'm a programmer/analyst... so it's about what I do.
